【說明】不要根據漢語習慣，在后面使用連詞but, 不過有時它可與 yet, still, nevertheless 等副詞連用：although we are poor, yet we are happy. 盡管我們窮，但我們很快活。
【辨析】although與though：1.用作連詞表示“雖然”時，兩者�？蓳Q用。2. although 一般不用作副詞，而 though 可用作副詞：it’s hardwork; i enjoy it though. 工作很辛苦，可是我樂意干。3.在as though(好像，仿佛)，even though(即使，縱然)等固定短語中不能用 although。4. though 引導的讓步狀語從句可用部分倒裝的形式，但 although 不這樣用：child though he was, he did quite well. 他雖是孩子，但干得很好。
altitude[5altitju:d] n.1.[c]海拔，高度：what is the altitude of this village? 這個村子海拔多少? 2.(常用復)海拔很高的地方：in these altitudes, snow never melts. 在這么高的地方，積雪終年不化。
