本課時是9a unit 2的integrated skills。其重點是培養學生如何從閱讀和聽力中獲取顏色對人情緒影響的信息的能力以及如何綜合處理信息的能力。

pre-reading 要求學生每人帶一本英漢雙解字典到課堂上,利用書上的fade這個單詞來介紹如何有效地使用字典。在學生查字典前先設幾個問題,引導學生快速準確地找到問題的答案。然后把學生自己查到的fade與課本上提供的材料作一個簡單的對比,找到課本提供的fade英文釋義的相應中文解釋。這個前奏為學生閱讀材料作了鋪墊。
while-reading 1. 通過reading 練習鞏固學生對查字典的掌握情況。
2. 學生可能在閱讀的過程中還會碰到生詞,可以用學生自備的字典查出新單詞的用法。
