Teaching Design of Lesson 11
cutting the foot and toes in turn, and reading them.
(2) showing the students the word cards and asking them to choose which one is “l(fā)eg” , which one is “knee” and so on from the word cards.
(this step is to help the students to feel and recognize the words according to its pronunciation, which can improve their listening and reading abilities.)
3. drill
(1) competition 1: passing on the words in a low voice and choosing the organ pictures to stick on the board.
(2) competition 2: pointing to one organ, two organs, three, four…more and more and asking the students to say the words to train their memory.
(3) asking the students to draw a boy or a girl according to the teacher’s orders.
(after the steps above, the students feel the words in many different ways. they’ve listened to the words, said them and read them for many times. and i think they know the four words well enough now.)
4. review.
showing the flash of morning, afternoon and evening and asking the students to discuss in teams what they are saying.
5. presentation.
showing the flash of “good night.” and asking the students to discuss in teams what the persons are saying and if they are saying “good evening.”. reminding them of the different situations between the flashes of “good evening” and “good night”.
showing the card and asking the students to say “good night.” for some times.
6. practice.
(1) saying a chant: good night, good night . the student called will sit down with face downwards, pretending to sleep.
(2) game: asking and answering quickly with “good morning”, “ good afternoon.”, “good evening.” and “good night.”
(3) asking the students to greet the others freely, but changing greetings when the time changes.
(to help the students know the difference between “good evening.” and “good night.”, i use the flash to show them the situations directly and ask them to discuss it in teams. then i use the chant and game to help them to say and know it better. at last i give them enough freedom to express themselves according to the different situations.)
7.consolidation
(1) showing the courseware and ask the students to greet the leg, the knee and so on at different times.
(2) homework: saying “good morning”, “good afternoon”, “good evening” and “good night” to the students’ family.
(summary is necessary for teaching , so i cross over the words and sentences in a flash to help the children meet the knowledge again, which can give them a deep impression. and i hope that they can understand learning english is for communicating with others in life, so i give them the homework.)
