Unit 5 what would you like?Part B Let’s learn

teaching aims:

1、enable the students to understand, and recognize: spoon, fork, knife, chopsticks and plate.

2、be able to understand some orders about passing and using the tableware.

3、learn to sing: what would you like?

key points:

grasp the 5 new words, say and recognize them.

difficulties:

1、the pronunciation of ‘chopsticks’ and ‘knife’.

2、be able to understand some orders about passing and using the tableware.

teaching aids:

tape—recorder, pictures, objects, student cards

teaching process:

step 1:warm-up

1.      greetings

t: good morning, boys and girls!

s: good morning, miss zhang.

t: sit down, please!

2.      let’s do

show me the hamburger.

pass me the french fries.

cut the bread.

eat the hot dog.

smell the chicken.

make the cake.

3.      free talk

t: how are you?

s: fine, thank you.

t: where are you from?

s: i’m from china.

t: what do you like for breakfast?

s: i like …

t: me too. how about you?

s: i like …

step 2: presentation

there are so many foods. i’m hungry now. oh, bread, so delicious. but how can i eat bread? (pretending to think) oh, i can use the knife to cut the bread and use the fork to eat (do the action).  oh, a good idea! ( the thumb)

① show the picture of the bread with the knife

knife↗↘ k-n-i-f-e  a knife. (if the student read the wrong sound, i will use the sentence: can i help, please to get the students to be family with the new sentence in details.)

knife, knife, cut with the knife. (do the gesture)

ask most of the whole class to read the word to remember.

②learn” fork”

show the picture of the bread with the knife and the fork

fork ↗↘f-o-r-k

chant: fork, fork, pass me the fork

2. guess: cai present a circle, let the students to guess what’s this?

then cai presents the picture of the plate

chant: plate, plate, pass me the plate

3. consolidation: new word (knife, fork, plate)

①game: what’s the missing?

②game: low voice, high voice

learn “spoon”

oh, i’m thirsty, i’d like to have some soup. how can i have soup? can i use the spoon?

a, show the picture of bread, teach the new word “spoon” and new phrase “give me a spoon”.

b, read the word “spoon”: afternoon →spoon.

c, chant: spoon, spoon, give a spoon.

5. learn “chopsticks”

a. a riddle with the gesture: they have two brothers. they are long and thin. we all chinese can use them everyday. when we eat the noodles, we can use them. guess what are they? (stimulate to say the word.)
