we've read a passage in this unit about the earth summit and environmental problems and solutions. 1. competition:divide the whole class into four large group and have ss list as many ways as possible to protect the environment. a. laws should be made to make pollution illegal. b. try to be clean in our daily activities;c. use environmentally safe products d. dispose of trash properly e. recycle household waste, yard waste, and hazardous chemicalsf. don’t pour waste water into rivers and lakes without being cleaned.g. recycle the used battery.h. use paper bags instead of plastic bags. 2. report the ways to stop pollution in class.
we know the earth summit mainly talks about environment problems and solutions. experts from all over the world are welcome to the earth summit, speaking about different topics and discussing new ways to solve old problems. today we are going to listen to the voices of the earth summit. step 2 listening1. listen to the speeches from the earth summit and complete the outlines on the book. 2. pair work: retell the speeches at the earth summit. step 3 practice1. discussion topic: do you agree with what they are saying?have ss write down the thoughts, comments, opinions and questions. 2. outline write an outline for your speech and then give the speech in class.
