辨析：knowledge與learning
knowledge泛指一個人通過觀察、調(diào)查、學(xué)習(xí)研究而獲得的事實或真知灼見，它不僅包含通過正規(guī)教育獲得的知識，而且包括日常生活中的閱歷。
learning常指“通過長期的、細(xì)致的學(xué)習(xí)而獲得系統(tǒng)的知識，這種知識往往不是膚淺的，而廣博的、深奧的”。該詞也可指全部學(xué)識和智慧的總和，或者科學(xué)知識，但更多用于語言、文學(xué)、歷史、法律等人文學(xué)科。this dusty knowledge needs brushing up after the passage of years. 多年以后，這種原先學(xué)過的知識需溫習(xí)一下。they have no direct knowledge of conditions in the east. 他們對東方的情況缺乏直接了解。he is a man of learning. 他是個學(xué)問淵博的人。

辨析: allow與allow for
▲ allow意為“允許”“準(zhǔn)許”。如：① smoking is not allowed in public places. 公共場所不允許抽煙。② the government servants aren't allowed to accept rewards.公務(wù)員不得接受酬謝。③ the children ale too young to be allowed out at night. 孩子們太小，夜間不能讓他們出去。
