ⅰ、重點難點詳解 
1. you shouldn’t worry about not having breakfast. (p.2) 你不應該擔心沒早飯吃。worry about not doing sth., 意為“擔心做不成某事”，about是介詞，后接名詞或動名詞（即動詞-ing形式）， 而 not doing就是其否定形式。如：my mum often worries about me. 我媽媽常為我擔心。  don’t worry about not drinking water.不用擔心沒水喝。
2. a year is divided into 12 different star signs. (p4) 一年被分成12個不同的星座。be divided into意為“被分成…”，這是一個被動語態的句子。又如：a year is divided into four seasons. 一年分成了四個季節。 the whole class is divided into 4 groups. 全班分成了四組。
3.  some people believe that people born under the same star sign share similar characteristics. (p4) 有些人相信，屬于同一星座的人具有相似的性格特征。similar，在這里是形容詞，其意思是“相似的”。如：we have similar hobbies.我們愛好相仿。my teaching style is similar to that of most other teachers. 我的教學風格和多數老師相似。 the two houses are similar in size.這兩座房子大小差不多。
4.  you are patient and do not give up easily. (p4) 你很有耐心不會輕易放棄。patient，在這里是形容詞，其意思為“有耐心的”如：she’s very patient with young children.她對幼兒特別有耐心。其反義詞是impatient; 作名詞時patient意為“病人”。如：the patients are taken good care of in this hospital.這些病人在這家醫院被照料的很好。
    give up，意思是“放棄”，在句中可帶賓語，也可不帶賓語，帶賓語時，賓語可以是名詞、代詞或動名詞。如：at last, he gave up his foolish ideas.最后，他放棄了他那些愚蠢的想法。 you’d better give up smoking.你最好把煙戒掉。i like playing football, but i have to give it up because of too much homework. 我喜歡踢球，但由于作業繁忙我不得不放棄。
5. you like saving money and cooking. (p4) 你喜歡節約和烹飪。這里save作動詞，其意思為“積攢”，如：i’m saving for a new bike.我正攢錢買輛新自行車。 另外save還可以理解成“挽救”“拯救”，如：doctors were unable to save her. 醫生未能把她救活。
6. you love peace and do not like to argue with others. (p5) 你喜歡和平不喜歡與別人爭論。這里argue作動詞，意思為“爭論”“辯論”，短語argue with sb. about sth. 意為“與某人爭論某事”如：he always argues with his brother about politics.他和他兄弟總是爭論政治問題。 還可以理解為“論述”和“表明”，如：columbus argued that he could reach india by going west. 哥倫布論證說向西去就能到達印度。his accent argues him (to be) a northerner.他的口音表明他是北方人。
7.  you are businesslike and are often successful. (p5)你有條不紊，成功率高。successful，在這里作形容詞，意思為“成功的”，如：his uncle is successful in his business.他叔叔事業有成。successful的動詞形式為succeed，一般用作不及物動詞, succeed in sth./doing sth.表示“在某方面取得成功”。如：this time i succeeded in passing the exam.這次我成功得通過了考試。successful的名詞形式為success, 如：we all hope the show to be a great success.我們都希望這次表演成功。
