  三、工具箱

  1.hello與hi

  (1) hello與hi可以互換,都表示“喂,你好”。但hi比hello用得更多,顯得更隨和親近,它尤被美國(guó)年輕人所使用。但打電話時(shí)常用hello而少用hi。熟人、朋友見(jiàn)面時(shí),彼此問(wèn)候僅僅說(shuō)聲hi!就可以了。用hello時(shí),不能“hello, hello, hello”這樣反復(fù)使用。

 。2)要注意hello/hi一般不用于與師長(zhǎng)、上級(jí)、年長(zhǎng)者以及有體面的人打招呼,以免顯得對(duì)長(zhǎng)輩不夠尊重。

  2.基數(shù)詞

  表達(dá)數(shù)目多少的數(shù)詞叫基數(shù)詞,本單元出現(xiàn)0~9的基數(shù)詞;鶖(shù)詞常用來(lái)表示門牌號(hào)、電話號(hào)碼、車牌號(hào)碼、年代等。但書(shū)寫(xiě)時(shí)一般用阿拉伯?dāng)?shù)字,而讀的時(shí)候用英語(yǔ)。其中0可以讀作zero也可以讀作字母o的讀音,當(dāng)號(hào)碼中有相同兩個(gè)數(shù)字相連時(shí),可以借助double(雙的、兩倍的)加數(shù)字來(lái)完成,也可逐個(gè)讀出來(lái)。如:

  3.在英語(yǔ)中如何拼寫(xiě)中國(guó)人的姓名,聯(lián)合國(guó)教科文組織已做規(guī)定“一律按漢語(yǔ)拼音的寫(xiě)法。姓和名分開(kāi),姓在前,名在后”。現(xiàn)舉例說(shuō)明:

 。1)如果是單姓,名又是單字,則姓與名的第一個(gè)字母要大寫(xiě),其余字母用小寫(xiě)。如:li lei李雷。

  (2)如果是單姓,名是雙字,則姓的第一個(gè)字母大寫(xiě),名的第一個(gè)字母大寫(xiě),名的雙字合在一起算一個(gè)詞,不得分開(kāi)。如:han meimei韓梅梅。

  中英姓名比較──中文姓名是姓在前,名在后;英文姓名是姓在后,名在前。mr用于姓前,如mr green不能說(shuō)成mr jim.

 。4)如果名字里有可能造成音的混淆的拼寫(xiě)時(shí),要用連字號(hào)“-”或隔音號(hào)“’”隔開(kāi)。如:

  1.物主代詞

  (1)表示所有關(guān)系的代詞叫物主代詞,本課所介紹的是形容詞性物主代詞,它們一般放在所修飾名詞的前面,同時(shí)它們也有人稱和數(shù)的變化。形容詞性物主代詞的前后是不出現(xiàn)冠詞的,這是在書(shū)寫(xiě)句子時(shí)最容易犯的錯(cuò)誤。如:my father, his desk, our room, their names. your aunt等。

  動(dòng)詞be就是我們所學(xué)過(guò)的am, is ,are的動(dòng)詞原形。如何使用這三種形式主要取決于主語(yǔ)。當(dāng)主語(yǔ)是第一人稱i(我)時(shí),用am, 縮寫(xiě)為i’m;主語(yǔ)是第二人稱you(你)或復(fù)數(shù)時(shí),用are, 縮寫(xiě)為you’re,主語(yǔ)是第三人稱it/she/he(它/她/他)或名詞及代詞的單數(shù)時(shí),用is, 縮寫(xiě)為it’s/she’s/he’s。如:
