part one analysis of the teaching material1. status and function
this is the first lesson of this unit. it is also the first lesson of this term. it mainly focuses on the new sentence pattern of this unit. “may i have…? sure. here you are.” the content goes around the students’daily life. and the topic is about “asking for things.”this lesson is important to raise the students’interest and is a preparation for the rest of the unit.
2. teaching aims and demands.
knowledge objects:
a. the students can hear, read, and use the phrases: come in, thank you. goodbye.
b.the students can master the sentence patterns : may i have…? sure. here you are. this … is for you. may i come in? come, in. please.
ability objects:
a. to improve the ss speaking and listening abilities on the top of asking for things.
b.to develop the ss ability of working in group.
moral and imotional objects
a. to educate the ss to be polite and helpful to the others.
b.to increase the ss interest in learning english and set up self confidence in the language study.

a. to help the student understand, read and act out the dialogue.
b. to teach the students how to study in groups and co-operate with the others.

a. to master the use of the words “for”and “have”.

part two teaching methods
a. communication method
i will set up a real situation in the class. in this way, the ss can say in pairs or groups, they can use the new sentence patterns more freely. as a result, it will be helpful to improve their communication ability.
b. task-based language teaching.
i will prepare some tasks for the students to complete which are interesting in themselves the ss can use what they have learned to complete the groups works. it’s a good method to arouse and keep the ss’ interest in english and help them to achieve success and satisfactory.
part three studying ways.
let the ss study in a relaxed and agreeable atmosphere. ss understand the new knowledge in a certain degree through the mental process of seeing, hearing,saying, imagining, thinking and so on. and make a preparation for completing the new study task.
after feeling and understand the language points, let ss obtain the knowledge actively by probe study and cooperative study.
part four teaching procedure
step 1 warm up and revision.
first i will introduce myself. i’m miss cheng. i will teach you english this term, you can call me miss cheng. then i will write down the name miss chen. teach the ss to read the words.
