一、 定位:
practice-based,啟發學生,歸納語言知識,開展各層次、強化性和綜合性練習,多種技能結合訓練,以練為主。
二、 教學目標:
1) 幫助學生理解并正確運用the past continuous tense.
2) 引導學生發現并歸納出the past continuous tense 的基本結構、意義與用法,并能在模擬交際中正確的運用該時態。
3) 培養學生探究學習、合作學習、自主學習的能力。
三、 教學環節設計:
1. revision
1) check part of the assignment the day before.
2) get ss to see some pictures to present some sentences in the present continuous tense. help ss to revise the form: am/is/are doing.
2. grammar learning-the past continuous tense
1) change the time information in the pictures and present the sentences the past continuous tense. by giving the examples, tell ss we have the past continuous tense and the present continuous tense and their differences.
2) get the ss to pay attention to the form of the past continuous tense: s + was/were doing + point of past time. help them to tell the meaning of the example sentences and find out the usages of the past continuous tense.
3. practice
1) complete the blanks in a. check the answers in class. explain some points if ss make mistakes
2) get the ss to pick out some sentences in the past continuous tense in reading a like these:
he was practicing the piano while other children his age were playing games and having fun
he was watching a tom and jerry cartoon on television when he first heard western classical music.
3) get the ss to pay attention to while and when: usually we use while to link two continuing actions and use when to link continuous, longer actions with shorter, complete ones.
4) get the ss to pay attention to the sentence structure of while: s1+ was/were doing + while + s2 + was/were doing. get ss to pay attention to the question form of the past continuous tense. get ss to make their dialogues following the example of part bin page8
