該組詞均有“完成，結(jié)束，終止”之意。但end為普通用
詞，指一種活動(dòng)因達(dá)到目的而自然結(jié)束或因某一原因
突然終止，可以用來(lái)作業(yè)、演講、爭(zhēng)論、旅行、戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)或生
命等的結(jié)束、終止。還可用作名詞。finish為常用詞，
指完成一件事或一個(gè)動(dòng)作，強(qiáng)調(diào)圓滿(mǎn)地結(jié)束已著手的
事情，可與名詞、動(dòng)名詞搭配，但不能與不定式搭配。
complete正式用語(yǔ)。與finish基本同義。著重指完成預(yù)
定的任務(wù).多用來(lái)指完成整個(gè)計(jì)劃、工程系統(tǒng)。一個(gè)作
家可以說(shuō) complete 或 finish (寫(xiě)完) 他的小說(shuō)，而一個(gè)
讀者只能說(shuō) finish (讀完) 一本小說(shuō)。complete 可以表
示使某事物完善，補(bǔ)足缺少的部分，使之成為一個(gè)整
體。而 finish 則不能。例如：
he ended his letter with good wishes to the family. 他
以向全家問(wèn)好結(jié)束他的信。
he has finished writing a speech. 他寫(xiě)好了一篇發(fā)言
稿。
he completed the whole job in two days. 他用兩天時(shí)間
做完了全部工作。
