catch up 意思是 “追上,趕上”。如:
if you miss a lot of lessons, it’s very difficult to catch up.
catch up還可以和with 連用,如:
run fast, or you can’t catch up with him.
3. i’ll call for help on my mobile.
這里call指打電話,for表目的,即“打電話求助”。
4. there he is, lying on the ground!
現在分詞短語lying on the ground在本句中作狀語,對謂語表示的狀態起陪襯說明的作用。
5. he’s got a wound in his leg and he may get a fever but it’s nothing serious.
這里nothing serious表示“不很嚴重,沒什么大事”。例如:
don’t worry! nothing serious!
