1. draw a simple picture of a temple and a hotel on the board but do not write names for them or label them. bring in a tourist map of the most interesting places in your area. prepare sentence cards with can i help you? and let’s look the map. written on them.2. (books closed.) give the map to a pupil. say: excuse me. give the first sentence card to the pupil and prompt him or her to ask can i help you?3. pointing to the temple on the board, ask where is the temple? give the second card to the pupil and prompt him or her to say let’s look at the map.4. tell the pupils that you are on holiday. point to the drawing of the hotel on the board and say this is where i sleep/ what is it called? to revise the word hotel from the previous unit.5. draw a low building with an airplane flying above it. teach the words airplane and airport. repeat the conversation with a different pupil, giving him or her the cards if necessary. ask where the airport is.6. show transparency. play the pupil’s book cassette and point to the speech bubbles. ask the pupils to repeat after the cassette.practice1.
