ask a few students what they think will happen next in the story. ask them what they woud do if they were the characters. tell students to discuss these questions in pairs. encourage them to discuss freely so that the story can develop imaginatively.

if you all enter the competitionto write a story for a tv programme. first, you have to think of an idea for a tv programme. you should think about where the programme takes place, the characters in the story and the personalities and favourite activities of the characters.
step 7. practice
you are also interested in writing your own tv programme for a writing competition. work in pairs to complete the plan on page 74, then write an outline of the story before writing the programme. there are no right or wrong answers here. you can choose whichever categories you like and use your imaginations to develop the plot. you can think independently, rather than copying the outline on page 73.
step 8. writing
when the students have agreed on their outline, encourage them to discuss the plot of their tv programmes. then ask students to write a story for their programme using the place and characters in their outline.
