                  let students conclude:

   (2) negative structures of the verb 'to be in simple past tense are:

                     i/he/she/it __ / ___... (was not wasn't)

                  were they born…?

3 explain the instructions to part b1 on page 68. remind them to use the past         tense form of “to be”. ask them to complete the exercise. then share their answers in a whole.
