[答案與解析]b have mercy on / upon 是固定短語，只能使用介詞 on 或upon。另外，短語中的mercy是不可數名詞，前面不可加不定冠詞。

on condition that 這是一短語連詞 (=only if)，引導條件狀語從句。i'll give you the day off on condition that you work on saturday morning.

▲ 辨析：pay back 還給。只說歸還，但不談還清與否；而pay off是還清了。
