開發學生潛能，培養學生各方面的能力和創新精神。教師在課堂上要敢于放手，讓學生在課堂舞臺上唱主角，充分享受語言學習的樂趣，從而為各方面的能力培養和潛能的開發提供可能。在我的課堂中，許多學生就what pet do you like? 展開激烈的討論，甚至個別學生用到了課內沒有的知識，從而拓展出許多動物詞匯。我在拓展方面幾乎設計的無可挑剔，但在引導學生應用方面還可進一步下功夫，如放手讓學生操練造句、對話等，這樣，學生的應用拓展能力和創新能力得到進一步培養和提高。
