讓學生換上伙伴的名字或自己家庭成員進行對話。
二、展示短語卡片，學習新知。
活動四： 讀讀貼貼
教師出示短語卡片，全班學生齊讀。之后，請第一組學生代表將短語卡貼到相應的動作圖片下，貼的同時第一組其他組員共同說出一個句子，如：he’s writing an e-mail. 接著由第二組代表貼圖說句子，第二組組員說句子，依此類推，直至各小組都進行過。
活動五： 加句子
學生五至六人一組，第一個學生說一個描述家庭成員在做某事的句子，如：mom is cooking in the kitchen. 第二個學生先重復前面學生說的句子，然后再說一個不同的句子，如：mom is cooking in the kitchen. dad is reading a newspaper in the study. 依此類推。
三： 鞏固新知。
活動六：讀讀寫寫
教師播放read and write部分的錄音，學生認真聽，之后憑借記憶復述聽到的句子或詞語。
教師再次播放，學生跟讀。
教師問一名學生：how are you? 學生作答后教師板書：how are you doing today? how are you? how are you doing? 用手勢和動作告訴學生三個句子意思相同，并劃個大括號，最后，板書 just fine. 。教師在用三種方法向學生提問：“how are you doing today? how are you? how are you doing?”引導學生回答：just fine.教師板書everybody 并帶讀，教師問一名學生：how’s everybody doing? 提示everybody一詞的含義，引導學生理解，并作答。
在學生理解的基礎上，教師請學生合上課本，判斷下面句子的對錯：
mom is cooking dinner in the kitchen.
dad is writing a letter in the study.
grandpa is reading newspaper.
the boy is doing homework.
brother is cleaning the room.
完成finish the sentences 的活動。
教師指導學生書寫四會句子，看誰寫得又快又好，包括：“ grandpa is writing a letter. brother is doing homework. mom is cooking dinner in the kitchen. he’s writing an e-mail in the study. ”
四、鞏固拓展
活動八：組內表演
學生6人一組，每3個人扮演一個家庭，兩個家庭背對背站好。游戲開始，每個家庭的第一個學生手拿一張紙卷成的模擬電話聽筒，開始打電話。其他學生分別任意做一個動作。一名拿模擬電話聽筒的學生說：hi. this is …. can i speak to …, please? 對方家庭接電話的學生根據被點名的學生正在做的動作作答：sure. he/she is …. please hold on. 然后將模擬電話聽筒傳給被點到名字的學生。依此類推，直至每名學生都接過電話為止。
