(3) vt. 過(某種生活)。如：we are leading a happy life. 我們正過著幸福生活。
拓展：led by...在……的領導下；under the leadership of sb. 或under sb.'s leadership 在某人的領導下。如：led by the party, we have had great changes in our hometown. 在黨的領導下，我們的家鄉發生了巨大的變化。

(1) 反對，逆 he swam against the stream. 他逆流游泳。they sailed against the wind. 他們頂著風航行。
(2)撞擊；碰著 he hit against a tree. 他撞在一棵樹上。rain beats against the window. 雨打在窗戶上。
(3)緊靠，倚在 a piano stood against the wall. 靠墻放著一架鋼琴。he put the ladder against the wall. 他把梯子靠在墻上。
(4) 以……為背景，與……對比 the picture looks good against that light wall. 在淺色墻壁的襯托下，這幅畫很好看。a ship appeared against the sky. 一艘船出現在天邊。
(5)防備he saved money against old age. 他攢錢防老。squirrels store up food against winter. 松鼠貯藏食物以備過冬。
拓展：be against 表示“反對”，其同義詞組是object to，反義詞是be for，be in favour of，support。如：i knew she was against us. 我知道她反對我們。are you against or for the plan? 你是反對這個計劃還是贊成這個計劃?
