let's chant
（1）教師放let's chant 部分的歌謠，學生聽錄音邊做動作邊說唱歌謠。然后，全班學生分成五組，每組扮演一個角色，分角色說唱歌謠。
（2）教師根據歌謠的內容任意向各組提問：snake, snake, what can you do? 被問到的小組派代表迅速回答：i can .... 答對即可得分，最后得分最高的小組獲勝。
4.鞏固和延伸（consolidation and extension）
（1）教師示范書寫sweep the floor, cook the meals, clean the bedroom, water the flowers，學生仿寫。
（2）讓學生做本單元a let's learn 部分的活動手冊配套練習。
（3）讓學生聽let's chant, let's learn部分的錄音，讀給家長或同伴聽。
（4）讓學生每天在家中做適量的家務勞動，并用英語進行表達。
第二課時：
一、教學目標與要求
1.能夠聽懂、會說：are you helpful at home, chen jie? what can you do? i can sweep the floor.you're helpful! 并能在情景中運用。
2.能夠聽懂、會唱歌曲“i can help”。
二、教學重、難點分析
1.本課時教學重點是句型“what can you do? i can ....”
2.本課時教學難點是句子“are you helpful at home?”以及在實際情景中正確運用所學會話。
三、課前準備
1.教師準備錄音機及錄音帶。
2.教師準備四年級上冊第四單元不同房間的詞卡。
3.教師準備狗、熊貓、老鼠、mike 的頭飾和一張母親節日歷。
四、教學步驟和建議
1.熱身（warm-up）
教師放四年級上冊a部分let's do的錄音，適時出示各房間詞卡，學生邊說邊做相應的動作。
2.預習（preview）
（1）教師放let's chant 部分歌謠的錄音，學生邊說邊表演。然后請四名學生上臺，分別戴好狗、熊貓、老鼠和mike的頭飾，臺下的學生提問，臺上的學生分別回答。
（2）教師說：the dog can run.the bird can fly.the squirrel can jump.they're helpful.i'm helpful, too.i can sing and play ping-pong.i can clean the bedroom.are you helpful? what can you do? 引導學生給出盡量多的回答。
（3）學生聽錄音，跟讀let's learn 部分的詞匯并拼讀、仿寫。
（4）教師做澆花、倒垃圾等動作，學生猜詞組。
3.新課呈現（presentation）
let's try
（1）學生聽錄音，做let's try部分的練習“listen and tick or cross”。
錄音內容如下：
grandma: what can you do，mike?
mike: i can sweep the floor.i can cook the meals.i can clean the bedroom.and i can water the flowers.
grandma: great! you're helpful!
（2） 教師說：mike is helpful at home.are you helpful at home? what can you do? 請學生兩人一組進行問答操練。
let's talk
（1） 教師放let's talk 部分的錄音，學生聽錄音跟讀。然后進行替換練習。
（2）教師出示一張日歷，上面寫著：mother's day，教師問：what day is today? 學生回答后，教師說：the second sunday in may is mother's day.what can you do for your mother on mother day?同桌學生一起準備一段母親節里幫媽媽做家務的對話。例如：
s1: today is mother's day, mom.happy mother's day! let me help you.
s2: what can you do, good boy/girl?
