beat=defeat 的賓語是人或隊伍, 表示“打敗……”;
win 的賓語不能是人，而是獎金，獎杯，比賽，戰爭等， 如win an award, win the competition。
5. 過去進行時
 構成： was / were + doing     用法：過去某個時間正在進行或發生的動作
 常與過去進行時連用的時間狀語：
at ten o’clock last night,   then,  this time yesterday,   at that time,  
from 8 to 9 last wednesday…
 when，while？
過去進行時常與when, while引導的時間狀語從句連用， 意思是"當……之時"。
when后面既可跟延續性動詞，也可跟瞬間動詞，常用過去式
while后面一般跟延續性動詞，常用進行時；強調兩個動作同時發生，或表示對比時只能用while
 the telephone rang when(while) i was taking a bath.
 all the students were sleeping soundly when the fire broke out. （此句中不可以用while)
 father was preparing a report while i was playing games.
