a glimpse( 瞥 ) of schooling in britain
    every child in britain must go to school from the age of five to fifteen. most of the children go to state schools(公立學(xué)校) which are free（免費的）to everyone. these schools are both for boys and girls, but the teachers are usually women.
children usually have lessons from 9:00 to 12:00 a.m. and from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. every day. saturdays and sundays are their holidays. the school year（學(xué)年）begins in september, and it has three terms（學(xué)期）, with holidays at christmas, easter, and in the summer. the summer holidays are the longest.
the score has nine grades（等級）: a star, a, b, c, d, e, f, g and u. a star is the best and equals（等于）the full mark（滿分）in china. and u equals a zero mark.

classes in america
everyone should think by himself.
 in america, class is easy(輕松的) and fun. in class the teacher is not very strict. students can sit on chairs, on desks and on the floor. the teacher often praises(表揚) students when they do something well, even it is very small. the teacher wants students to be creative(創(chuàng)造性的), too.
 when students do their homework, they don’t need to read textbooks. they go to the library. there they look for many books. they read them and have their own ideas(想法).
  on the wall of the school, there are many pictures. they are pictures of good students and some big men from the school. students like them and learn from them.
