1. ask and answer
2. move small classroom objects from one place to another. ask: where was the …? where is it now/
3. show the pictures of the tadpole. discuss with the students how each has changed: how they used to be and how they are now.
4. introduce: tadpole, frog, caterpillar and cocoon, using the cards.
5. ask: what do you know about the tadpole and the frog? etc.
6. play the cassette: look and read.
7. invite students to each read a sentence. ask : it was a brown tadpole. what is it now/
while-task procedure
1. ask the students to complete read and write.
2. read: look and talk. the pairs of students take turns to compare the positions of the objects in the two pictures.

post-task activity
1. workbook page 20
2. individually hold up each of the pictures for tadpole, frog, caterpillar and cocoon, and ask: what was the tadpole?
