9.maybe 與may be
maybe 是副詞,一般作狀語,“很可能,大概“相當于perhaps。而may be是情態動詞加動詞原形,共同做謂語。
maybe you are right. = you may be right. 或許你是對的。
10. could 與should的用法
could用于過去時或表示委婉的說法,還可以表示可能性和許可。在表示許可時,may比較正式。
should是助動詞shall的過去式,也相當于一個情態動詞,沒有人稱和數的變化,用以表示勸告或推薦,譯為“應該”,shouldn’t “ 不應該”, 后面直接跟動詞原形。
he should stop smoking.
you shouldn’t drink too much.
