(1)announce 意思是“宣布”，常指首次公開或正式宣布人們關心的某件事情。
the new government announced its policy at once.新政府立即宣布了它的政策。
the headmaster announced the result of the exam. 校長宣布考試成績。

announcer，名詞，“宣布者”，“播音員”；announcement名詞，“宣告”，“通告”，“預告”。
(2)aliens是“外僑”的意思，在這里指的是“來自另一世界的生物”，與from mars搭配，表示“來自火星的外星人”。
(3)on the earth意為“在地球上”，而in the earth卻是“在地里”，“在地下”的意思。
we live on the earth. 我們生活在地球上。
in the winter some animals hide in the earth. 冬天有些動物藏在地下。

on earth表示“究竟”，“到底”，常用在who, what, where, when, why等特殊疑問詞后，以加強疑問的語氣;也可以用在否定詞之后，以加強否定的語氣。

◎on earth還可意為“在世界上”，“世間”，有時用于最高級之后，以加強其含義。

(1)so...that在這里引導結果狀語從句，表示“如此……以至于……”，that后面接從句，常見的句型有：
◎主語+系動詞（be, become等）+so+形容詞+that從句。
the computer is so useful that each of us wants to buy one.
計算機太有用了，我們每個人都想買一臺。
◎主語+行為動詞+so+副詞+that從句。
he ran so fast that we couldn’t catch up with him. 他跑得太快，我們追不上他。
◎so...that后面也可以跟so many/few加復數可數名詞或so much/little加不可數名詞。
he had so many falls that he could ride a bike at last.
他摔了很多跤，終于學會了騎車。
there’s so much noise in the meeting room that i can’t hear the speaker clearly.
會議室里的噪音太大，我聽不清演講者的發言。

so...that句型轉換的四種方法
◎當從句的主語與主句中的主語一致，且that從句是否定式時，常用too...to...轉換。
the little girl was so tired that she couldn’t walk farther.
=the little girl was too tired to walk farther.
這個小女孩太累了，她不能再走路了。
