host 的意思是“主人，東道主（可數）”；host family則是指 “房東家”，表示“所借住的人家”。

在英語中，“女主人”常用hostess表示。

expect是及物動詞，意為“期待，盼望”，其后面常跟動詞不定式、從句等。
she expects to come back on sunday. 她預計星期天回來。
i expect that i’ll finish my homework in 10 minutes.
我預計10分鐘后就能做完作業。
特別提示
expect的后面還可以跟復合賓語。

(1)“ask+sb+for+名詞”意為“向某人請求……”;“向某人要求……”。

(2)by作介詞時，后接動詞-ing形式，這是中考的重點，大家可不要忘記啊！
