正：the students hung a map of the world on the wall to the left.

誤：the terrorists will be hung by the people some day.
正：the terrorists will be hanged by the people some day.
3. there’s always something happening.(p88)總是有事情發生。
本句是there be句型的一個固定結構，即there be+sb/sth+doing sth，意為“有……在做……”。
my friend said there was a truck collecting rubbish outside.
我的朋友說外面有一輛卡車正在收集垃圾。
there is a mr wang waiting to see you outside your office.
有一個姓王的人在門外等著要見你。
知識拓展
◎ there be+sb/sth+to do sth，表示“主語將做某事”。
there will be some australian students to come to our class.
有幾個澳大利亞的學生要到我們班里來。
◎ there be也可不表示“存在”意義，常以否定句的形式出現時，用于對某一具體行為和抽象概念的否定，其句型是there is+no+doing sth。
there is no saying what may happen. 很難說會發生什么事。
there is no telling when he will return. 說不清他何時回來。
there is no knowing when we shall meet again. 不知何時我們能再相會。
4. i also like to look at books in the bookstore. (p88)我也喜歡在書店里看書。
漢語的“看書”既可表示“閱讀”的意思，也可表示“翻看一下”，“隨便看看”。英語的表達在詞語上就有所不同了。請“看”區別。
he looks at that book, takes it down and reads it carefully.
他看了看那本書，然后拿下來，認真地讀了起來。
looks at that book與read it(the book)在內容上是完全不同的。look at that book僅指“看書”，用來表示“看了看”，不是以閱讀為目的；而read it(the book)則是“讀了讀”書中的內容。
5. go past the park, and turn left onto oak street. (p88)走過公園，然后向左拐到橡樹街。
go past the park...是一種指路方式，go past表示“走過”的意思，past是介詞，意為“途經”，“經過”。
when she went past the parking, mary saw a man standing at a new car.
當瑪麗走過停車場時，看見一個人站在一輛新車旁。
