本部分展示了liu tao 寫給peter的信，要求學生在閱讀來信的基礎上幫助peter給liu tao回信，重點訓練學生的閱讀理解能力和寫作能力。
1） 教師先引導學生自己閱讀本課的語言材料，理解句子含義。
（修改:讀本部分出現的生詞，教師可采取不同的處理方法：可在閱讀前講解，也可啟發學生通過上下文猜測）
2） 引導學生分組討論liu tao的來信和peter的回信，通過問答， “how old is liu tao? where does he live? does he have any brothers or sisters? what are liu tao’s favorite subjects? what’s liu tao’s telephone number?”讓學生理解信中的內容。
（修改: 讓學生觀察信件的格式，寫法，包括地址、日期、起首語、結尾問候語的處理方法,然后老師在做詳細的講解,幫助學生掌握英語的書信格式.）
2.think and write
本部分是peter給liu tao的回信，介紹了除書信以外的另一種通訊方法e-mail，或稱電子郵件。
1） 通過問答who's peter? where does he live? what are peter’s hobbies? what’s peter’s telephone number/e-mial address?讓學生記起a部分關于的一些資料。
2） 讓學生仔細閱讀f部分有關的資料，讓學生加深對peter的了解。
3） 讓學生觀察書中e-mail的格式，鼓勵他們說出與書信的不同之處。
（修改: 鼓勵學生完成練習，或請學生2人一組完成填空練習）
