many times i tried to persuade him to take the job, but i failed.

(2). 使某人相信 (+of) / (+that)   how can i persuade you of my sincerity?我怎樣才能使你相信我的誠(chéng)意呢?
we worked hard to persuade them that we were genuinely interested in the project.
我們想盡辦法以使他們相信我們確實(shí)對(duì)這一計(jì)劃感興趣。
6 embarrass (v) “使（某人）覺(jué)得不自在、尷尬或害羞” are you trying to embarrass me?
 i was embarrassed by his comments about my clothes . 他評(píng)價(jià)我的衣服使我難堪。
 i don’t like making speeches in public ; for it is embarrassing. 我不喜歡在公眾面前講話，太難為情了。
embarrassment (n) 尷尬 embarrassing (adj)令人尷尬/局促不安/為難的embarrassed (adj)覺(jué)得不好意思的，發(fā)窘的
 he felt _______________ by his lack of money when his friend asked him for help.
7 it was disturbing and frightening that he looked so human.    主語(yǔ)從句  it為形式主語(yǔ)
 it was clear that they had no desire for peace.   it seems that lao wu’s idea is more practical.
 it happened that i wasn’t there that day.    類似用法：
(1)              it’s a pity /a shame/ good news/ an honor/ a good thing that …
(2)              it’s strange/natural/ surprising/ true/ funny / wonderful / likely / possible /probable…that ….
(3)              it seems/ happened /suddenly struck me that …

(5)              it is doubtful / not decided / not made clear/ to be decided / a question +連接代詞或連接副詞引導(dǎo)的從句。
(6)              it doesn’t matter/ doesn’t make too much difference +連接代詞或連接副詞引導(dǎo)的從句。
