3能夠正確完成let’s check部分聽音圈圖的練習。
教學重難點
教學重點:讓學生理解、會讀文段內容,能正確理解幾個單位詞:ton, meter, kg, cm.并了解sperm whale 和 killer whale的區別。
教學難點:是對長度、重量、大小的單位區分以及表達
教具
準備 1錄音機,錄音帶。 2、相應的圖片
3.學生調查魚的資料。

1.preparation
(1) let’s sing.
(2) 出示單詞卡片,復習a、b兩課let’s learn 中的單詞。
(3)let’s check.
教師放該部分錄音,學生聽錄音完成聽音圈圖的練習。然后教師核對答案。
設計意圖:在歡快的歌聲中復習所學的形容詞比較級,既創設了良好的英語學習氛圍,又激發了學生的學習興趣。
2. pre---reading
1) teach: each / each up to 20cm long.
先出示幾支相同長度的鉛筆,每支都長20厘米。look! i have some pencils here. how long are they? 拿一把量一量其中的一支鉛筆,讓學生看刻度回答。 the pencil is 20 cm long. 再用一支鉛筆去量其他的鉛筆,通過比較讓學生得出幾支鉛筆長度相同的結論,教學生說句子:each up to 20 cm long.
t: look ! each up to 20cm long.(板書)

read the sentence one by one/ together.
2) teach: deep/ can dive into the deep cold water, can jump out of water.
t: (圖片出示一只海豚) dolphin is a good swimmer. they like diving. they can dive into the deep cold water. they can jump out of water.
(領讀并板書):

can jump out of water.
read the word and the sentences after teacher.
read the sentences one by one/ together.
設計意圖:在閱讀前,利用課件創設情景,突破文中的難點句子,為下面的閱讀掃除了部分障礙。
3. in ---reading
t : “today, let’s get to know two kinds of whales, sperm whales and killer whales.(板書并領讀) do you want to know something about them?
(1) let’s read the dialogue quickly and silently, and find out the answers to the questions:
a. how long is the sperm whale?
b. how long is the killer whale?
c. how heavy is the sperm whale?
d. how heavy is the killer whale?
then check the answers.(在引導學生回答的過程中教單詞meter和ton.)
(2)this time let’s read the dialogue as carefully as you can, find out something difficult and new words, then answer these questions ,you can talk about with your partner:
1. how many teeth do they have? how long is each tooth?
2. what does a sperm whale eat ? what does a killer whale eat?
3. what can they do ?
ask: who has questions? (教師對學生提出的生詞squid, lobster, shark, seal, even進行教學并板書,對提出的難點進行突破。對其中較難記憶的單詞 squid, lobster,采用音義結合法記憶。)
