教師出示教材p17下面的插圖：
t: there is a cinema near here. it’s not far from here. but where is the cinema? let’s listen.
教師播放let’s talk部分對話錄音。
學(xué)生聽完錄音后回答問題：where is the cinema?
教師板書重點(diǎn)句子：where is the cinema, please? it’s next to the hospital.
請學(xué)生繼續(xù)看圖，提問：
t: is there a school? (post office, supermarket, science museum,….)，
學(xué)生根據(jù)實(shí)際用yes.或no.回答。
t: is the cinema far from the hospital?
教師用手勢啟發(fā)學(xué)生理解far from的意思，并引導(dǎo)學(xué)生用no, it’s not far.來回答。再用is the…far from…?和學(xué)生談?wù)搱D中幾個(gè)場所的距離，操練far from的使用。
（3）學(xué)生跟讀對話。
（4）兩人一組分角色表演對話。
（5）看圖替換
教師和一個(gè)學(xué)習(xí)較好的同學(xué)進(jìn)行對話示范。
t: （指著圖中某處面向大家）i’m here. i’m going to buy some fruit. but i don’t know where the supermarket is.
（對一位同學(xué)）excuse me, is there a supermarket near here?
s: yes, there is.
t: where is the supermarket?
s: it’s next to the bookstore.
t: is it far from here?
s: no, it’s not far.
t: thank you.
s: you are welcome.
組織學(xué)生兩人一組仿照let’s talk中的對話參照p17下面的路面圖進(jìn)行替換練習(xí)，教師巡視指導(dǎo)。
請幾個(gè)組來演示對話。
（6）pronunciation
教師出示本部分的教學(xué)掛圖并放錄音，第一遍學(xué)生靜聽，感知音標(biāo)的音與形；第二遍請學(xué)生跟讀。教師有意識地在字母e和a下面畫線，讓學(xué)生自己總結(jié)兩個(gè)字母在單詞中的發(fā)音。接下來教師帶領(lǐng)學(xué)生從上到下讀單詞，即kettle，這兩個(gè)單詞一起讀，注意讀的時(shí)候要強(qiáng)調(diào)字母k和c的發(fā)音。要讓學(xué)生明e母c在單詞中的不同位置有不同的發(fā)音。教師可舉些例詞進(jìn)一步說明，如：car，class，clean，nice，mice等。依次教學(xué)其它的輔音音標(biāo)。

教師先請一名學(xué)生在掛圖上連線做示范，請其他學(xué)生仔細(xì)看圖、辨認(rèn)詞形、
讀音標(biāo)，然后連線。最后學(xué)生集體核對答案。
3.趣味操練
（1）游戲：句子接龍
將學(xué)生分為6人一組，以小組間展開句子接龍比賽：第一個(gè)學(xué)生說where，第二個(gè)人說：where is，第三個(gè)人接著說：where is the cinema？第四個(gè)人開始回答：it’s，第五個(gè)人：it’s next to，第六個(gè)人：it’s next to the hospital. 所用名詞盡量不要和別人重復(fù)，比比哪組配合得好。
（2）仿真演練
教師用一些課桌模擬街道場景擺放，并將幾個(gè)場所的單詞準(zhǔn)備出來。
教師將卡片cinema放在任意位置：here is a cinema. where is the library?
請一名學(xué)生回答后將library的卡片放到相應(yīng)的位置。
同樣方法將單詞卡：science museum，school，bookstore，hospital，post office擺放出來，模擬出街道的場景。
請學(xué)生隨意組合，進(jìn)行問路指路的活動。
a: excuse me, is there a… near here?
b: yes, there is.
a: where is the…, please?
b: it’s … the ….
a: is it far from here?
b: no, it’s not far.
a: thank you.
b: you are welcome.
