1. length 是形容詞long的名詞形式，表示“長度”；
height 是形容詞high的名詞形式，表示“高度”；
width 是形容詞wide的名詞形式，表示“寬度”；
weight 是動詞weigh的名詞形式；表示“重量”。
2. be able to do… 意思為“能夠做……”。與情態動詞can常可以互用。如：
he can ride a bike. = he is able to ride a bike.
she could swim when she was 7. = she was able to swim when she was 7.
但是在“將來時態”中只能用詞組be able to表達，不能用can表達。如：
she won’t be able to play softball for two months.
