1. do as i say.讓學生手腦并用，復習上節課的單詞，并學習本課的新單詞“fly,lay”，同時完成自編歌謠的任務：“fly,fly,fly,i can’t fly.”“lay,lay,lay,i can’t lay.”
2. say the sentences:“i can ……”，讓學生說說看自己能做什么。
3. 說句子“i can sing,but i can’t swim.”解釋“but”的意思，并操練單詞“but,but,but,但是就是but.”
4. 出示動物，如“rooster,monkey,duck,bird”,教學單詞“bird”,并讓學生用英語說說看，這些小動物們都會做什么，不會做什么，嘗試使用“but”連接兩句話。
5. 角色扮演。指派學生上臺分別扮演不同的小動物，其他同學在老師的提示下用英語提問，如“can you swim,miss bird?”，被點到名的小動物必須如實作答。

教學過程：
一、 learn to say
1、 打開生日賀卡，播放生日歌，讓學生說出今天所要學習的內容；
2、 看課文圖片，講解課文內容，并突出tomorrow, birthday, party, sure四個單詞，講解漢語意思并帶讀；
3、 listen,逐句解釋。
4、 listen and repeat, 直到熟讀。
5、 分角色扮演對話。
6、 帶讀生詞：buy, present, doll.
二、 look and say
1、 出示kite, doll, pencil-box, bag, story book, cake的圖片，ask: what’s this? 引導學生作出正確的回答。
2、 提示學生不同的人名和禮物，操練對話。
三、 sing a song<happy birthday to you>
1、listen and explain.
2、listen and repeat.
3、sing it.
四、make a birthday hat.
進行評比，評出最佳制作者。
