3 according to the weather, put on or take off the sweater and say i’m hot/cold.
4 write the words hot/cold/wet dry on the board. ask a pupil to come to the front. say it’s cold. point to the sweater and ask the pupils what’s this? when the pupils reply tell the pupil at the front, put on your sweater. demonstrate what i want the pupil to do. write the sentence on the board. repeat with it’s hot. take off your sweater.
5 point to the raincoat and umbrella and ask the pupils what’s this? say it’s wet. don’t forget your umbrella. /put on your raincoat. encourage the pupil to pick up the umbrella or put on the raincoat. write the sentences on the board.
6 ask a different pupil to come to the front. give him/her the raincoat and tell him/her to put it on. look out of the door and say it’s dry. take off your raincoat. gesture to them to take off the raincoat. write the sentences on the board.
practice
1 (books open.) show transparency and play the pupil’s book cassette. the pupils listen and follow in their books. continue to play the cassette and ask the pupils to repeat the words after the beeps.
2 point to the windows in pictures 1-3 and the door in picture 4. ask what’s the weather like?

play a guess game. write sentences, e.g. it’s cold. put on your sweater on individual slips of paper. divide the class into two teams. the teams take turns to nominate someone to come to the front. show the pupil a slip of paper and get them to read it silently. then they mime the sentences. the members of their own team guess what the sentences are. they get a point for each correct sentence. if the team cannot guess, the other team can try. keep score on the board.
