3 the next pupil chooses a character and asks what’s … doing? reply using any game from this unit. make sure mentioning each game at least once. take notes about the answers i have given in a copy of the table on page 45 for checking purposes at the end.
4 the pupils should use a coloured pencil to circle the name of the game if they have it in the correct box in the grid. as the pupils are playing, walk among them to make sure they understand how to do this.
5 tell the pupils when they have circled three names in a row, a column or diagonally they should shout bingo! the first person to do so correctly is the winner.

play a clock playground game. remind the pupils that when it is three o’clock, for example, the long hand points to the twelve and the short hand points to three. get 12 pupils to stand in a circle. tell each one to call out their number from one to twelve. divide the rest of the class into two teams. each team sends out a team member. tell the team members whether they are the long or short hand. say a time. both members rush to stand in front of the correct number. the first one to get there gains a point for their team.

1 play the pupil’s book cassette for the pupils to listen to the chant.
2 point to each of the small pictures and ask what’s mary doing? get them to answer in full sentences, she’s playing …
3 play the cassette again and tell the pupils to point to the correct picture for each of the verses. ask them to draw the correct time on the clocks.
4 play the cassette again and encourage the pupils to join in with the words.
