1. put on performances
演出。 動詞詞組put on有“上演”“表演”的意思，如：we’ve decided to put the play on again next week. 我們決定將在下周再次上演這出戲。 the senior class put on a dance. 高年級表演了一個舞蹈。
2. at present
present前面不能加冠詞，要加冠詞的話，得用at the present time。如：mr. king is busy at present/now. can he ring you later? 金先生現(xiàn)在很忙，他稍后給你電話，好嗎？we are planning for a new experiment at the present time. 現(xiàn)在我們正在計劃一項新的試驗。
3. year by year
表示每年有所變化時（as each year passes）用year by year，如：i grow taller year by year. 我一年一年的長高了。表示一年年一成不變時（continuously for many years），就要用year after year。對比：the flowers remain the same year after year while people change year by year. 年年歲歲花相似，歲歲年年人不同。
“名詞+by+名詞”意思是“逐個地”“一個接一個地”，如：they went to the hall one by one.他們一個接一個進(jìn)入大廳。 these problems should be solved step by step. 這些問題應(yīng)當(dāng)逐步解決。
4. one day
one day 作狀語，可指過去的某一天（有一天），也可指將來的某一天（總有一天）：one day we visited the nature park near beijing. 一天，我們?nèi)⒂^了北京附近的自然公園。you will know more about the history of the country one day. 將來總有一天你會了解更多的這個國家歷史的。
5. one after another
接連地（的），一個接一個地（的）：they came in one after another. 他們一個接一個走了進(jìn)來。 we have won one victory after another. 我們?nèi)〉靡粋�又一個的勝利。
1. how long will it take you to complete the trip? 你旅行全程需要多長時間？
表達(dá)“某人做某事需要多長時間”常用“it takes sb + time + to do sth. ”句型。句中的不定式是真正主語，it 是形式主語。對time提問用how long：
it will take me two weeks to complete the job. 我需要兩星期才能完成這項工作。
how long did it take you to learn english so well? 你花了幾年多長時間把英語學(xué)得這么好？
2. it is hoped that…形式主語結(jié)構(gòu)，真正的主語是that引導(dǎo)的名詞從句。it is hoped that they will pass the exam tomorrow. 希望他們能通過明天的考試。 it is hoped that more and more people will eat healthy food. 希望越來越多的人飲食健康。
類似的結(jié)構(gòu)有許多: it is said that…(=somebody says that…)據(jù)說… it is believed that… (people believe that…)據(jù)信… it is supposed that…(people suppose that...)據(jù)認(rèn)為... it is reported that...(somebody reports that...)據(jù)報道...
1. we are trying to collect money for a wildlife project. 我們正在設(shè)法募集資金搞一個野生動物項目。
collect money 籌集資金：they decided to hold concerts to collect money for the hope project. 他們決定舉辦音樂會為希望工程籌集資金。還可以用raise money：他們靠演出籌集資金:they raised money by performance.
