2. i don't feel like walking very much today. 今天我不太想步行。
feel like想做某事情/愿意：i feel like a cup of coffee. 或i would like a cup of coffee. 我想喝杯咖啡。還可以用這個句型表達一種提議：do you feel like having a rest? 注意：would like 只能接名詞或不定式 ，但feel like 不能接不定式。
3. it's on the edge of the lake that has been made by the dam. 這座廟座落在由高壩形成的湖邊上。
詞組on the edge of … 在…的邊緣：don’t put the glass on the edge of the table; it might fall off. 憋把玻璃杯放在桌子邊上，它會掉下去的。he is on the edge of death.
4. second, electricity can now be made from the water which rushed through the base of the dam. 第二，現在可以利用沖過壩基的急流來發電。
rush 沖、奔：when the bell rang, the children rushed out of the classroom. 鈴聲一響，孩子們就從教室里沖出來。
5. as a result of the dam, the water level of the lake was going to rise by 63 metres. 大壩建成的后果之一是湖水水位將升高63米。
rise 是一個有多重意思的動詞，如：the sun rises in the east. 太陽從東方升起。 he always rises early. 他起床總是很早。 he rose immediately to reply. 他馬上站起來回答。prices are rising. 物價在上漲。 the wind is rising. 起風了。介詞by可表示增減程度，如：he is older by five years than john. 他比john年長5歲。production fell by about one-third. 生產下降了大約三分之一。we lost the match by one goal. 我們以一球輸掉了這場比賽。
6. in all, 1700 workers and 200 other people worked on the project. 參與這項工程的工人總計達1700人，還有200名其他人員。
詞組work on （從事…）搭配能力很強：work on a new novel 寫一本新小說；work on the wall-newspaper出黑板報；work on the project 從事這個工程；work on inventing new machines 致力發明新機器
7. first, each stone was marked with a number. 首先，每塊石頭都標上號碼。
掌握mark的用法：①n. 分數：he got 80 marks for geography. ②v. 評分：the teacher is marking the students’ compositions.③n. 記號、痕跡：who made these dirty marks on my new book? ④v. 作記號、標明：she marked her name on the book. the book was marked with her name. 這本書標有她的姓名。
8. today you can either fly to abu simbel or you can take a boat from across the lake. 今天，你既可坐飛機，也可以從湖對面乘船到達阿布•拜勒神廟。
詞組either … or …表示兩者擇一：put this dictionary either on the shelf or in the desk. 把這部字典放在書架上或放在課桌里。you may come to my office either today or tomorrow. 你可以今天或明天到我辦公室來。
介詞from后面往往可以再接一個介詞短語：a minibus came along from behind me. 一輛中巴從我后面開過來。he took out a pair of dirty socks from under the bed. 他從床底取出一雙臟襪子。
