1. stand for… 表示；代表；意指

the teacher divided our class into several groups. 老師將一個班的學生分成了幾個組。be divided into… 被分成…: a year is divided into four seasons. 一年分為四季。during the warring states period, china was divided into many kingdoms. 戰國的時候，中國被分成了許多王國。又：divided by : 除以…，如：eight divided by two is four. 八除二等于四。
