【考點3】含 on 的動詞短語
① throw light on / upon 使……顯得非常清楚
② rely on 依靠；依賴；指望
③ base...on 以……為基礎
④ insist on 堅持
⑤ live on 以……為生
⑥ depend on 依靠；視……而定
⑦ keep on 繼續
⑧ go on 繼續
⑨ feed on 以……為食
[例句]the modern scientific development has thrown light
on this question. 現代科學的發展已使這個問題明朗化。
the man is not to be relied on. 這個人不可靠。
judgment should be based on facts, not on hearsay. 判
斷應該以事實為依據，而不應該依靠道聽途說。
i insisted on his coming with us. 我堅持要求他和我們
一起來。
you may depend on his coming (depend on him to
come). 他準會來的。
▲友情提示：rely bn sb to do sth = rely on orle's doing
sth 指望某人做某事。rely on it that... 相信/指望……
【考例3】new ____ may be thrown upon the cause

[考查目標]此題主要考查固定短語的搭配以及從句的
知識。
[答案與解析]b throw light on / upon 是固定短語。
又因為后面是定語從句，所以只能選b。
