▲辨析：complete；end；finish
該組詞均有“完成，結束，終止”之意。但end為普通用
詞，指一種活動因達到目的而自然結束或因某一原因
突然終止，可以用來作業、演講、爭論、旅行、戰爭或生
命等的結束、終止。還可用作名詞。finish為常用詞，
指完成一件事或一個動作，強調圓滿地結束已著手的
事情，可與名詞、動名詞搭配，但不能與不定式搭配。
complete正式用語。與finish基本同義。著重指完成預
定的任務.多用來指完成整個計劃、工程系統。一個作
家可以說 complete 或 finish (寫完) 他的小說，而一個
讀者只能說 finish (讀完) 一本小說。complete 可以表
示使某事物完善，補足缺少的部分，使之成為一個整
體。而 finish 則不能。例如：
he ended his letter with good wishes to the family. 他
以向全家問好結束他的信。
he has finished writing a speech. 他寫好了一篇發言
稿。
he completed the whole job in two days. 他用兩天時間
做完了全部工作。
