▲ 辨析：appear；look；seem
該組詞均表示“似乎”，但強調點不同：seem暗示該判斷
有一定的根據，往往接近于事實；look著重于通過視覺
得出的印象；appear強調外表看起來給人的印象而事
實上或實質上并非如此。句子結構有同有異：均可跟
形容詞；均可跟介詞like + 名詞或like + 動名詞；均可接
不定式作表語。seem和appear可跟從句。而look則不
能；look和seem可跟as if從句，而appear則不能；
seem和appear可川于it seems / appears that-clause
中，而look不能；seem和appear可用于there seems /
appears to be...中，而look不能。例如：
the noise appeared to be endless. 這喧鬧聲好像永無休止。
there appears to be no student in the classroom. 教室里
似乎沒有一個學生。
the stars look very smail only because they are much far—
ther away. 星星看上去很小，僅僅是他們太小的緣故。
it seems as if it is going to rain. you'd better take your
umbrella with you. = it looks like rain. you'd better
take your umbrella with you. 天好像要下雨，你最好帶
把雨傘。
his father seems much better today. 他爸爸今天似乎好
多了。
the baby seems to be sleeping.don't make so much
