14. make sense
1) 有意義；有道理；講得通
what you say makes no sense.
你說的話沒有道理。
2) 明智的；合情理的
it doesn't make sense to buy that expensive coat when
these cheaper onesarejust as good.
這些便宜的大衣也很好，何必非買那件貴的不可。
it would make sense to leave early.
還是早點兒走好。
注意區別 make sense 和 make sense of, make sense of
的意思是“理解或弄懂困難的事物”。
this sentence doesn't make any sense.
這個句子說不通。
【考點4】與 prison 有關的短語
① put sb in / into prison 把某人關進監獄

▲ 友情提示：與prison有關的短語中，要注意有無冠詞
的差異。go to the prison 到監獄去(不是坐牢)；而go
to prison 入獄，被監禁(去坐牢)。

[考查目標] 此題主要考查prison的詞義。
[答案與解析]a prison用于“被監禁”、“入獄”時，
prison前無冠詞。當prison指具體的場所時，則前應
帶冠詞。
15. regardless of 不管……；不顧……

feelings.
他怎么想就怎么說，不考慮別人的情緒。
